“As a young kid, I vividly recall sharing lunch in a coffee farm worker's home. Their Grandma poured me a humble half glass of milk. To me, it wasn't a symbol of scarcity, but a profound gesture of care, generosity, and the warm hospitality ingrained in their beautiful communal life. This powerful memory ignites my passion for our mission to empower small farmers. I strive to kindle a deep connection between all of us and these hardworking communities, recognizing the indispensable role they play in providing nutrient-rich food. Their dedication not only sustains us but also nurtures their communities and our planet. I believe in fostering these meaningful connections that honor the essence of care, generosity, and community – just like that half glass of milk did for me.”

“I’ve always had a passion for my Andean roots. When I moved to Peru to work with quinoa-farming communities, I learned a deep respect for the smallholders striving to improve their livelihoods while preserving their colorful ancestral crops. This gave me the crazy idea to start making plant-based milks out of ancient ingredients sourced from the farmers who are taking good care of the Earth. I started out at farmer’s markets. But this idea evolved into Muyu. My hope is that together we can make a big enough difference to regenerate landscapes and communities while preserving the amazing foods of the Andes for future generations.”
